Happy Birthday Konner

What a wonderful 3 years it has been since Konner was born. The Lord has truly blessed us with a healthy, intelligent boy. The things that boy comes up with blows our mind. He always keeps us smiling and laughing with what he says and does. What joy he has brought to our lives and it's only the beginning. :) I can't wait to see what the Lord will do in years to come with our family.
HAPPY 3rd BIRTHDAY KONNER!!!

Konner & Santa

Last week was Konner's Christmas party at school. I dressed him in a red shirt because it's CHRISTmas. I totally forgot that Santa's suit is red and I thought the pictures weren't going to turn out good. I thought it was going to clash. But much to my surprise the picture turned out great!!! Anyways, Santa came and brought presents for the kids. He had a good time and brought home a bag full of goodies from his 'frands' at school.

Pre-School

As most of you know Konner is in the 2 year old pre-school class at Jack & Jill's. He first started in The Cleave (Vancleave) and is now in E-Town (Escatawpa). :) Konner absolutely loves it. We could not be happier and are glad he goes. Here is his pre-school picture.

Christmas in Heaven

Every morning on the way to work Konner and I listen to a Christian radio station called 89.1 WPAS AFR (American Family Radio). Being that it is Christmas they are playing Christmas music. Well this morning this song came on and it just really touched my heart. I started crying. The song is called "Christmas in Heaven" and it's sung by Sarah Schieber. Some of us already have family and friends that know what Christmas in Heaven is like. Can you imgaine what it will be like when us Christians get there? Ahhh.. what calm I get when thinking about how wonderful Heaven will be!!! Anyways..click on the link below and listen to it. It is an awesome song!!!

The True Meaning of Christmas

It's that time of year again when we are all frantically trying to figure out what to buy each other for Christmas. We get so caught up in the gift giving that we forget about what this time of year is all about. Some of us aren't Christians or are but don't act like 'Christians' throughout the year but are more than ready to participate in the Christmas parties and all the festivities. This time of year is about celebrating the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is His voice and His life that this season is all about. NOT about the gifts. We as Christians need to get this world back to where it needs to be. We are here to serve the Lord our God and be his disciples ALL year round, not just Christmas time. We as parents, grandparents, etc, need to teach our kids why we celebrate Christmas and the true reason. It is Jesus' birthday. It's not about the presents. The most important 'gift' we could give our children is LOVE and to tell them about Jesus and the love He has for us. He is the way, the Truth and the Life. Let's remember this in Christmas' to come why we celebrate this time of year and not get caught up in the 'gift' giving. We will teach Konner and other Cheramie's to come the real reason for the season. I hope you all will help and teach your kids as well. Let us enjoy being with our families and thank God for sending his Son so our lives could be saved and have eternal life.

Oh and it's Merry CHRISTmas, NOT happy holidays!!!

Today I was off for a paid 'shopping day' my boss gives us at work. So I got up early, dropped Konner off at daycare and off I went to Mobile. I had some things that I had bought on Black Friday that I needed to exchange. Well, a need to exchange a few things turned into a need to buy EVERYTHING. :) Konner for sure does not need any more toys, but I just can't help but to want to buy him more for Christmas and his birthday. I am not going to not buy him toys because every one else is going to give him too many. I am seriously thinking about setting a limit. A limit for myself as well. Jesus only received 3!! I don't know when enough is enough!! Dan every year tells me that we bought him enough toys. It's hard to listen. He needs clothes more than anything. So I bought him some. :) I am picky about what he wears. I don't like clothes that have characters on them. I won't put them on him. Sorry!! Graphic Tee's are fine. I bought him some underwear that have cars on them (I didn't know until I opened them) and I still have a hard time putting them on him.

I always get overwhelmed this time of year because of Christmas and his birthday being 5 days apart. There are always too many toys around this house it's just plum ridiculous. There are still toys he got last year that he has played with maybe 5 times if that. This year I think I have been much better if I have to say so myself. Although I still want to buy him more!! But what mother doesn't feel the same way I do?? On the other hand maybe I am the only one.

Hard to let go!

This week I have been getting ready for a yard sale I am having on the 13th of this month. I never imagined how hard it would be to get rid of Konner's old things. Toys he has not played with in forever, books we used to read to him ALL the time. Most of these things have some kind of significance to me. Maybe not Dan or Konner, but they do to me. So these 'things' I am keeping (HA) in a keepsake box. And perhaps maybe if another Cheramie comes along he or "she" (Dan told me to put she in parenthesis) can use them. I do have 3 boxes full of toys, clothes, books, stuffed animals, etc that I still have to go through and put prices on. Hopefully those boxes won't be as hard to let go of as the things I did tonight. We shall see how it goes.

Sneaky, Sneaky!!

The end of last week and this whole weekend has been very lazy. We took Konner to the doctor to find out he has a sinus and 'almost' ear infection. His appetite this past week has not been to great. The doc prescribed some antibiotic. He takes his first dose of medicine Friday and doesn't keep it down. It says it may upset stomach if not taken with a 'moderate' meal which is like bread, just something light. Saturday is not a different story. This morning he wakes up bright and early. He turns on the TV and gets a rice krispie treat, the usual morning routine. He hardly ever wakes us up. I decide if he is going to eat all the rice krispie treat I better get him to take some medicine. He put up a fight but finally took it. And yes he did keep it down. Thankfully he got his appetite back somewhat today. He was playing and singing and just having a good ole' time. Well... he is playing with his puzzles and I look over to him and I know that look when he has had an accident and he says "I gotta go to the bathroom." So we hurry to the bathroom only to find he has diarrhea. Oh boy was that fun to clean up off me, Konner and the bathroom floor. After that episode he settles down a little and lays on the living room floor and rests while he watches Scooby Doo. He gets up a little while later and asks for some candy. We don't like for him to have candy on a day to day basis. Only on special occasions, which is not very often. We tell him that if he finishes his lunch that he could have a Hershey's Kiss. I was doing some scrapbooking at the bar and Dan was in the bedroom watching football and we hear Konner trying to open the pantry door where we keep the garbage can. I look up to see him with a handful of chips. I said quickly, "What do you think you are doing?" He replies with a big, huge smile, "Throwing my chips away." Uh huh! Caught ya!! Dan and I and Konner started cracking up laughing. He knew what he was doing and he knew we knew about his little scheme. That little stinker was going to throw away his lunch so we would think he ate it all so he could get a piece of candy. Gotta give it to the kid. Trying to turn one over on us. He is one smart boy. He did get a piece of candy because he did finish his lunch.

The Moon

full moon Pictures, Images and Photos

Konner is always trying to find the moon and show us where it is when we are driving at night. A few nights ago we were driving home and he says, "Mommy, there's the moon." It was a bright, big, beautiful moon that night. I replied with, "Oh, hey moon!" Konner tells the moon hey also. A few minutes later I asked him if the moon said 'hey' back. With a little attitude of 'don't you know Mom' Konner says, "Mommy, the moon can't talk. It doesn't have a mouth, or a nose, or eyes, or ears to hear us."

Romans Chapter 13

Romans 13

Submission to the Authorities 1Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. 4For he is God's servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience. 6This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God's servants, who give their full time to governing. 7Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.
Love, for the Day is Near 8Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law. 9The commandments, "Do not commit adultery," "Do not murder," "Do not steal," "Do not covet,"[a] and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule: "Love your neighbor as yourself."[b] 10Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
11And do this, understanding the present time. The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. 12The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. 13Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. 14Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature.

We have to stand up!!!

I was woken up this morning with a phone call from my friend asking me if I had heard the news. The news that Barack Obama has won the election and will be president of the United States. My heart sank!! How could this be? What is America thinking? They aren't thinking that what it is. They have fallen into his trap and will soon realize who he really is and what he truly stands for. Buckle up y'all because we are going to take a ride. Why would we elect a islamic president, on a Christian based nation? When the book of our nation is supposed to be the Bible but yet the book of Islam is the quran?

I called my mom on my way to work and asked if she had heard the news. She told me to look up Deuteronomy 17:15. So when I got to work I did and here is what it said, (This is from the BIBLE. The book that we ALL should abide by. Not bits and pieces of it. ALL the book from cover to cover. We can't pick and choose what parts to believe and what parts not to believe.)

'be sure to appoint over you the king the LORD your God chooses. He must be from among your own brothers. Do not place a foreigner over you, one who is not a brother Israelite.'

I sent this verse in an email. A lady that I work with that I looked up to because of her 'christianity' and beliefs emailed me back and said, "It was the right choice." I still do not know what to say back to her. I am not going to reply back. How could anyone be ok with killing unborn babies and take money from those who have worked their whole lives to get to where they are and BAM! in a blink of an eye it's gone. These people will do this without even thinking. This makes me sick to my stomach to think about. That boggles my mind!! Really!

We are getting away from the Christian values and principles. This country was brought up by Christian founders. What happened?? It is sad to even bring a child into this world today. I will not teach my child other than what the Bible teaches and commandments God himself gave us. That is the LAW!! Put your full trust in LORD not man.

We as Chrisitans need to pull together and bring this back. We all need to pray. Pray alot and pray hard for Obama and his followers. Pray that God will convict their hearts and speak through us Chrisitans for them to see. We need to be the light for these people. Let us show them how great and Mighty our God is. We can change this world back to what our founders intended it to be and what God wants it to be. The power of prayer can change our nation and our American people. FEAR the Lord your God!! Let your voices be heard!!!!

11.04.2008

I cast my vote!

As we all know, today was the voting day. I hope you all went out and voted today. It is our right and duty as American's to stand up for this country. What was this country founded on? What did our forefathers do for this country? This is where we started. Let's not forget this. Let us not ever vote because of what others are saying. Read up on the past of these candidates and know who they are and what they believe in and what they will bring this country. Watch the debates and TV. It is all over. Tomorrow will bring a change no matter what the outcome. If you are not registed to vote I urge you to go register ASAP. Your vote matters. It will and does make a difference. But ultimately know that GOD is the real maker and ruler of ALL the earth and will continue to be. There is no voting for that. Don't take this for granted!! Let's stand up Christians for what we believe in!! VOTE!!

One successful week

We have been working with Konner on potty training for what seems like forever now. Last weekend he stayed in 'big boy' underwear all weekend and only had one accident. So come Monday morning I asked him if he wanted to wear a pull-up or 'big boy' underwear to school and he chose big boy underwear. YAY!!! I pick him up and was thinking that he surely had an accident during the day. Much to my surprise he did not have a single accident. I was so proud of him I took him straight to the store and bought him a car. The whole week he only had about 3 or 4 accidents. He loves to wash his hands so he usually tells us he has to go to the bathroom just so he can wash them. We went to Hooter's tonight and he told us he needed to go to the bathroom and we both thought 'Yeah right, he just wants to wash his hands.' We were wrong. He went to the bathroom and then washed his hands and then washed them again. I had to drag him out of the bathroom. We weren't at the table 5 minutes and he said he had to use the bathroom again so I made Dan take him and all he wanted to do was wash his hands, which is not a bad thing. We are glad he likes to wash his hands. We are so proud of our little boy that is growing up so quick!!

Seward Farms Corn Maze

We have been hearing about the Corn Maze in Lucedale. Of course we had to check it out. Saturday we went with Jeremy, Susie and Olivia. They had so many activities you could do from shooting corn, hay ride, cow train, corn maze just to name a few. It was awesome weather and the kids had a blast and so did we.

Jackson County Fair

Tuesday night was family night at the fair. Dan, Mimi, Pop, Konner and myself all went to enjoy gumbo and let Konner ride a few rides. Jeremy, Susie and Olivia met up with us too. On family night you get a discount on the rides so instead of having to have 4 or 5 tickets to ride you only needed 2 or 3 tickets. Tickets are $1 a piece. I am not about to pay $5 or $6 for him to ride one ride. That is plum outrageous. He rode about 4 rides. Anyways, Konner was so excited and couldn't wait to finish eating so he could ride. He was jumping up and down and dancing and pointing here and there saying how he wanted to ride this one and that one. Here are a few pics of his first time at the fair!!

Pumpkins

This weekend was our yearly Pumpkin Carving at my parents. We bought Konner a pumpkin, paint and paintbrushes so he could paint his. He got some help from Miranda too. Dan carved a fish and I carved a smiley face. We had fun! Can't wait for next year!!

Fish

This past Sunday we took Konner fishing at my Uncle Keith's and Aunt Jami's house. They have a pond in the front of their house. Before we went over we went to Wal-Mart and bought Konner a Transformer fishing set. It came with sunglasses, a tackle box, fishing pole and a backpack to put it all in. He was all set to go and excited too. Dan, Konner and Uncle Keith were down at the pond fishing. They didn't have the pole in the water long at all and Konner had a bite. I was inside and Aunt Jami starts yelling for me to get my camera because Konner was reeling in a fish. I sure didn't think it was going to happen that soon. I got down to the pond just in time to see them pull it out of the water. Konner was so excited but didn't want to hold it so I could take his picture. So of course Dan held it and I snapped it. Actually I snapped a few. Ha. After he caught this one he didn't fish anymore. One was enough for him. We are planning on going back soon. We had so much fun.

Days of the week & Months of the year.

Konner and I went to my parents house Sunday night. My mom and I were talking about what month it was that I had gone to Washington, D.C. I told her it was May or June when I had gone. Well Konner started saying the months of the year, "July, August, September, etc.!! I was in shock!! :o I had no idea he knew them. I had tears come to my eyes. My mom asked me why I didn't tell them he knew the months of the year. I told her that it was just as shocking to me as it was to her and my dad. Come to find out he knows the days of the week also. We are so proud!!!!

Deep and Wide

Konner loves to sing. Most of the time when I try to video him he stops doing whatever he is doing. Not this time. I went to Wal-Mart a few months back and bought 4 cd's that has children's chrisian music on it. We always listen to them in the car. At daycare they also teach them songs and a bible verse every week. He is a smart little booger.

Our Family Vaca

For our end of the year family vacation we went to Orange Beach and stayed at Phoenix On The Bay. This place is awesome!! You don't even have to leave the condo. It comes equipped with a full kitchen, dishwasher, silverware, cookware, washer & dryer. In the bedroom it has his and her sinks, stand up shower and a Jacuzzi tub. Konner slept on the sofa bed. We went down the road to Publix and bought some groceries to cook while we were there. It has a kiddie pool, heated pool and non heated pool outside with a lazy river around it. Oh, and there is a slide outside too. Inside there is two hot tubs and another heated pool. We had a blast! We went to the beach, hung at the pool, and just enjoyed being together. Dan and I started a tradition on our honeymoon when we go to Orange Beach we always go to this seafood place that steams your seafood for you. They just steam it, it's not a restaurant or anything. We bring it back to our room and eat on the balcony. Well every time we go we ALWAYS get some steamed shrimp and crab legs. So this time was no different. We pull up and what do you know they are closed until Monday. FOOEY!! This is a 3 year tradition people!! HA!! Don't worry, we found another place that steamed them, but it was not as good as the place we always go to. We have decided this will be a yearly family vacation for us. We only stayed 3 nights but we decided we will be staying for a whole week next year. 8-) We did forget our pillows we brought with us. So needless to say we had to go last night and buy some more. Thank goodness we did not forget Konner's pillow. OMG!! We would of definitely had to go back and get it. SERIOUSLY!! He loves his face pillow. And his blanket too. He takes them every where. He pitches a fit if we go somewhere and we don't bring them. I added some pics to our slide show at the bottom so go check them out. To book your next family vacation go to http://www.brett-robinson.com/.

Our new friend!!

Apparently Gustav left us a friend. The weekend after Gustav we were out in the yard picking up limbs and mowing. I was push mowing under a tree and out of the corner of my eye I see this HUGE spider. His web was attached to the tree and the ground. Konner was right behind me with his push mower and I didn't want him to run into a piece of his web and have the spider flip out because someone was messing up his lovely abode. I told Dan to come over and see thinking that he would kill it but he didn't. He just resumed mowing the rest for me. Those three black spots above him is his food.

Kon Man's First Day of Preschool

This is a picture of Konner's first day of preschool. That face cracks me up! He is like, "Will you go ahead and take this picture already!!" Haha. Here is his first worksheets. I told Dan I will not have enough room on my refridgerator to put all his 'masterpieces.'

Softball Game

Dan and I played in a co-ed softball game last night. They didn't have enough girls so I said I would play so they wouldn't have to forfeit. Dan subbed running at first then filled in for Shane in left center. We both haven't played in 4 or 5 years, so needless to say we were both out of shape. I have to say that we played great. I played second and short stop. Dan played left center. We were fielding and the biggest guy on the other team got up to hit. He reminded me of Michael Clark Duncan from The Green Mile. The first time he batted he hit to left center and Dan caught it and got him out. By the second time he got up to bat it had been raining. Of course the bats and balls were wet and slippery. So he gets up to bat and I'm playing short stop. The whole time I'm thinking he is going to hit it to the out field again. Wrong thinking. He hit it straight to me. The ball bounces off my glove and hits me in the stomach and it hurt. But I didn't let that stop me from picking the ball up and throwing it to first. I was so close to getting him out. I have this red round spot now where the ball hit me. We lost but still had fun playing. Our legs are so sore this morning we can barely move. We need to get back in shape. The Fall season starts in September and I think we are going to play. I know Konner will have so much fun watching his Mom and Dad play. It won't be long we will be watching him play.

9.02.2008

Gustav

During Gustav we stayed at my parents house. Monday morning came rain and winds. Luckily for us we only had tropical storm weather. Here and there we had good gusts of winds. We did get a chance to go out a few times. Konner played in the water puddles until it started raining again then he would run inside.

We took naps. While I was sleeping Konner sat all the dolls/stuffed animals by me.

Dan offered to paint my toenails and I wasn't going to pass that up. Well Mr. Konner wanted his done too. So he picked his color and while Dan painted mine I painted Konner's. Aren't they purty?!?!

Mud Riding

This weekend we planned to take Konner mud riding. Dan camped Friday night. Before Dan left he was telling us goodbye and see you tomorrow and all that good stuff. Mr. Konner was not too happy about it. He wanted to go 'terr reeler riding' right then. We told him that when he woke up he could get his boots on and go. Well, he went to get his boots right then and put them on. So we told Dan bye and Konner was okay and went to bed. He went to sleep with his boots on. He woke me up at 5:30 with those boots in his hands saying he was ready to go!!! I told him it wasn't time to go back to bed. I took him back to bed and left his boots where they were and he was screaming and crying for his boots. He went and got them and put them in bed with him. We got up again at 7 and loaded up. Everyone was just getting up when we got there. While we waited Konner the whole time was telling Dan and I, "I ready to go terr reeler riding." Finally we left for the mud!! His boots fell off once and he went crazy. We had the best time. We finished up our day in the creek to cool off. Here are a few pics of the fun we had!!

It's Hurricane Season!!

There is a possibility that Gustav will hit us. Gustav may result in our power going out. I just wanted to let y'all know that the power companies do the best they can to get everyone's power back on in a safe and timely manner. These men and women work 24/7 until the job is done. They barely have enough time to go home, eat and get any sleep before they have to be back working. Please be patient and respect these people who are working their hardest to get our power back on. My Dad and brothers work for power companies. After Katrina my Dad had a gun pulled on him because the power was not on. My Dad told the guy to do him a favor and shoot because he hadn't slept in days. Same goes for my brothers. Just remember we are all in the same situation. Let's help each other out. Bring the workers a cold glass of sweet tea :) and tell them how much you appreciate how hard they are working. And also, remember these men and women are away from their families and homes, that might possibly could have been damaged. It still scares me to this day when I know my Dad and brothers our out in the lightning, trees falling, rain, trying to get our lights back on. I always say a prayer when I hear my Dad leave and know he will be in dangerous weather. But they love their jobs!! And I'm not just talking about 'power companies'. I'm talking about cops, FEMA, Red Cross, Coast Guard, etc. They are all trying to help YOU!!! Please be safe!!

Our Stuffed Bacon Cheeseburgers!!

This is a picture of our Stuffed Bacon Cheese-burgers. It is not your everyday bacon cheeseburger. We take cooked bacon (fried in a pan), onion, garlic and cheese and put it all between two hamburger patties. Then we cook it on the grill. Scrumptious!!!! Kinda simple but better than you can ever imagine!!

Dan says, "If this doesn't make your mouth water then you're not American!"

1.. 2.. 3.. Ready or not here I come!!!

I was hiding from Konner today behind the rocking chair. He looked in our bedroom, the kitchen, down the hall, etc. I guess something caught his attention on TV because he stopped 'seeking' me. So I coughed a few times, each time getting louder and louder. He ran down the hall and I started giggling and getting really excited. I can't remember the last time I played 'Hide and Seek'. I got that nervous feeling. 8-) Anyways, he came back into the living room and found me. Well this escalated into him wanting to hide. I sat and counted, "1.. 2.. 3.. 4.. 5.. Ready or not here I come." As soon as I finished counting he came out from his hiding spot saying, "Here I am!!" Well he hid one time and I couldn't find him for real. I looked all over the house. Guess where I found him?? Behind our chaise lounger where he is not allowed to go. He was sitting back there nonchalantly drinking his milk.

Konner's first Tropical Storm (Fay)

I think by the time Tropical 'Storm' Fay got to us it was more like Tropical 'Depression' Fay. The Cheramies' did not let Fay get us depressed. No Way!! We went to our friend Natalie's 2nd birthday party. She had a blow up water slide and a blow up Spider Man jumpie thing. Even though the wind was kickin' we still had fun.

When Dan picked Konner to up to slide, he changed his mind and got back down.

But once he slid the first time, that was all it took.

Here is Konner and Dan in the jumpy thing.

Our Little Helper

Konner is in the phase (well we hope it's not a phase) where he wants to help do everything (load/unload dishwasher, do laundry, cook, etc). Tropical Depression Fay kept us inside so he got to help alot. We did laundry, picked up toys and he even helped make a pizza. And he snuck in a few pepperoni.

Lazy, rainy, but otherwise successful day!

As some of you may know Tropical Storm Fay was not as bad as we thought. She still brought some rain our way though. So while we were stuck in all day we buckled down on potty training our little one. It went WONDERFUL!! He did not have the first accident. I am very surprised he didn't ask for a 'present' every time like he has done in the past. We are very proud of him and his 'accomplishments' today. BUT, tomorrow is another day. Wish us luck!!

Alligator Cloud

We were driving on the interstate over the bridge coming from Moss Point into Gautier and Konner says, "Look Mama, an alygrator!" Well I always try to see if I can see an alligaotr when we go over this bridge. And when Konner said he sees one I wanna see too. So I start looking in the water trying to find this 'alygrator' and don't see it. I ask "Where is the alligator Kon Man?" And he points to the sky and says "Right dere, in da cwouds." He saw a cloud shaped like an alligtor. Who knew?? I was stunned. I can't wait to see what else he sees in 'da cwouds'! We can lay a blanket on the grass on a nice cool day and see what all we can find.

Starting to Blog

We are going to try out this Blogger thing. It is much different than myspace or facebook. Y'all can come here and check out the latest that is going on is our busy lives. The great thing about it is you don't have to be a blogger yourself. Woot!! Woot!!

So I am setting up our Blog and I have already created Konner's Lily Pie Birthday ticker and had it on our page where I wanted it. Dan is checking it out and finds some 'errors', Konner's birthday ticker being one. It said 'Kon Man is 1 yr 7 months, etc..' Konner is not fixing to be 2. He is fixing to be 3!! THREE people!! Not TWO!! 3!!! I had tears come to my eyes! Where have I been?? Where has the time gone??
