Getting ready

Talked to the doctor today and it is going to be the beginning of the year when Ady gets to come home. She will come home on oxygen and a feeding tube. Which is OK, she will be home with her family under one roof. In the meantime, we have to take a CPR class and will be learning how to give her meds and put her feeding tube back in just in case she pulls it out. The doctor is not sure whether she will need labs drawn every week or every two weeks, but we are going to see if Home Care can just come to the house and do it since she will be a HIGH RISK baby and can't/shouldn't be out around people in a doctor's office where there are sick kids or anywhere else for that matter. On another note, even though she is on continuous feeds, she is still given about 10cc's every three hours from a bottle, and she is doing great with that. She even takes it straight from the fridge. No warming or anything. Dr. Whittington said she will go home with liver issues and may have them for over a year. He told the doctor here that NH is not weeks to months to fix it's months to years. There is still a long road ahead but (as a friend told me) AT LEAST THERE IS A ROAD!!!
